What if there were a time delay between your speech and the manifestation of your words? Maybe the delay would sometimes be an hour or two hours. Sometimes it would be a day or a year. Other times there would be no delay at all and the results would be immediate. How would you react and what would others do?
Most likely, many people would flock to you making all kinds of personal requests like: Make my children respectful – Make my spouse love me – Make me attractive – Make my parents understand – Increase my finances…and on and on. How would you handle the pressure? When would you get any rest? Would this be a burden disguised as a blessing? Tell me, how would you determine which wishes to grant and which ones to deny? How would you handle conflicting request?
What if everything you said came true? How would you react? Maybe the better question would be “How long would you think before you would speak?”
How favorable would you be to people’s personal requests? Would the way you respond depend on the way you felt at the time? On good days you would feel generous. On bad days – well, why have a bad day when you could change that? Would you give good things to those you like and ignore those you don't like? But then, why would you choose to not like someone?
So, maybe, in general, the way you would respond would depend on the condition of your heart. Your words would be guided by what you believe and what purpose the outcome would support. In fact, wouldn’t you adopt the practice of speaking only what agrees with what is in your heart? If so, would you pray to God more for a pure heart and for guidance?

With compassion, grace, and insight, The Spoken Word empowers Christians to align their hearts with scripture in order to find the grace, faith, and power needed to face the many struggles and trials of life and to change them into victories.
“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers,
how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. But I tell you that everyone will have to give

Verse of the Week
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;
He lays up the deep in storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.

"...Gaynelle strikes a trail through the less-attempted softer side of God’s word to us. In this terrain God’s grace makes even our not-so-best moments release God’s word in our lives. Her treatment makes you WANT to hear God’s spoken word, just to have the chance to be found faithful…or not…and feel, in either case, close to your good, good Daddy."

No God, No Good
There is power behind the spoken word that determines the kind of work it will produce. That power can be seated either in faith in God or in unbelief. Both the believer's and the unbeliever's words produce work. But, without God, man's word cannot produce good work.
The power behind the spoken word flows from a well dominated by truth or a well dominated by error. The power is tied to the condition of the individual's heart. It is from the well of a man's heart that he speaks. The result of his words will reflect the quality as well as the quantity of what his heart contains. Knowing God's word is not enough. True faith is demonstrated by living out God's word which includes what and how we speak.
How would you react if everything you said came true? What if you got everything you asked for? What if every complaint actually became real? What if everyone you called a name really became that thing? How would you respond? Would you be afraid? Would you feel empowered? Would you possibly sell your words to the highest bidder or would you be more careful about what you ask for? Would you always think before you speak? Would you be a lot more cautious and consider the outcome of even idle conversations?

Well, this scenario is just what God the Father deals with every moment of every day. Everything He says is truth and everything He says comes true. For this reason, God speaks what is in His heart.
Recalling from Isaiah 55:11, God says of His word, “...it shall accomplish that which I please...”
Expressing the power of God's word, the Bible records these words:
Whether we are aware of it or not, we are made in God’s image and our words perform the way God made them to work. The words we speak will be either good or bad. But they all will speak as to the content of our heart. Our words build a case for our justification or condemnation thereby making us our own witness. Jesus confirmed this when He said:
3
account on the day of judgment for every empty word
they have spoken. For by your words
you will be acquitted, and by your
words you will be condemned.”
(Matthew 12:33-37) NIV, emphasis added
What can we expect of our words?
Now that we are aware of our accountability, should we diligently search our heart and carefully choose our words? Is there anything else we can do to influence the positive effect of our testimony? Yes, there is.
If man were a tree, the work of his words driven by the content of his heart would be his fruit. Since we are what we think in our heart (Proverbs 23:7), we can hide God's word in our heart to not sin against Him (Psalm 119:11). By doing so, we build up the quality and quantity of the contents of our heart with the truth of God's word. If we so nurture the content of our heart, out of our mouth will come good fruit.
